Please note that these tools should be used carefully. Read the notes. If you
are confused by stuff, post to
comp.sys.acorn.networking and I'll get back
to you. If any of these tools cause your machine to blow up, grow legs or
otherwise misbehave, it's probably your fault anyway for moving past the
quill pen. These applications have been tested a lot, but never been
finished, whatever that might mean. There is very little deeply technical
stuff. Mostly, it's me being lazy and trying to save time.
To download anything, click on either the icon or the "Download..."
link. All files are zipped.
3.6 | !MakeServe is the basic tool. This package contains it and
most of the other bits below. Please note that there are two versions. This
one requires your "server" to be running RISC OS 3.6. All
files are reasonably well annotated. Download !MakeServe for RISC OS 3.6 |
3.7 | !MakeServe is the basic tool. This package contains it and
most of the other bits below. Please note that there are two versions. This
one requires your "server" to be running RISC OS 3.7. All
files are reasonably well annotated. Download !MakeServe for RISC OS
3.7 |
| !Netreset is a simple tool to reconfigure a
RiscOS 3.1 machine as a client on an Acorn Access+ network. Download
!NetReset.
|
| Patches to the !Run files of a few programs. To
secure stuff, I tended to use the -readonly flag. The programs patched by these
files didn't like this. Download
Patches. |
| !ResetPbrd is a quick method of re-running the Pinboard on a
client station. It's worth putting this on all client pinboards. Download
!ResetPbrd. |
| !SetMaster
simplifies setting up the Pinboard on a RISC OS 3.6 or 3.7 Master Sharer
computer. It could easily be modified for a normal machine, I suppose. Download !SetMaster |
| !SetPin does for the Clients what !Setmaster does for the
Master Sharer. Please note that there is and must be a difference. It's silly
to link to a share from the machine creating the share for a lot of stuff. Download !Setpin |
| !Setup1 does the donkey work of opening
directories to ensure correct shared paths. Specifically, the Apps
share. Download !SetUp1 |
| !SetUp2 does the same sort of thing as
above, except it opens the Work share. Download !SetUp2 |
| !ShareKill
share the Killer directory across the network. It assumes that you have that
program, and a licence for it, and that it's installed to its default location.
